In the past, losing multiple teeth meant giving up the possibility of smiling and eating your favourite foods forever. Today, solutions are available to replace entire dental arches. On one hand, some people try to solve the problem with removable dentures, while others opt for an All-on-4® procedure with the application of the fixed Toronto Bridge.
In the latter case, however, the main concern, aside from the surgeon’s expertise and the quality of the materials, is the duration of the procedure. A common question is how many appointments are required, a concern that often discourages patients from undergoing the procedure.
Many would prefer to complete everything in a single session, as travelling from one city to another for multiple appointments can be inconvenient. As a result, some patients consider immediate loading implantology, despite the associated risks. So, what is the right balance to achieve the best health and well-being outcomes?
At Freesmile, we strive to provide long-lasting care and make patients feel comfortable, minimising stress. However, we prefer to perform delayed loading implantology because we believe it is essential to wait for the biological osseointegration process to complete. Specifically, when reconstructing the upper arch, a waiting period of six months is necessary, while for the lower arch, three months is sufficient.
After the initial consultation, during which the patient is examined and receives a treatment plan and cost estimate, the procedure can proceed if accepted. Implant placement is completed in a single session. In the meantime, while waiting for the fixed prostheses to be applied, patients are provided with a temporary removable prosthesis, allowing them to continue chewing and smiling.
To undergo this type of procedure at our centre, you can book an initial consultation by calling 06.33.33.377. We are open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm.
