Immediate loading is an implantology procedure that involves applying the prosthesis immediately after inserting the artificial root, allowing for new teeth within 24 hours.
However, this procedure is very particular and delicate. For this reason, in addition to the usual precautions taken during the operation, the patient must also follow a precise healing process.
For example, it is crucial to know what can be eaten immediately after the procedure, particularly in the case of a fixed Toronto Bridge prosthesis.
Immediate Loading: What to Eat?
For the first seven days, a liquid and semi-liquid diet must be followed. This means consuming creams, purees, ice cream, yoghurt, and drinking fruit juices, milk, vegetable or meat broth.
From the seventh to the twenty-eighth day, a semi-solid diet can be introduced, including foods that require minimal chewing effort. Suitable options include polenta, eggs, minced meat, ricotta, creamy cheeses, puddings, and anything that can initially retain the shape of the dish it was served in.
Finally, from the twenty-eighth day until the end of the second month, a soft solid diet can be adopted. Patients can include foods that do not require thorough chewing, such as small, well-cooked pasta, soaked biscuits, cooked vegetables, and peeled, seedless ripe fruit.
By following these timelines, all typical post-procedure inconveniences can be avoided, and healing will occur more quickly. In any case, at Freesmile, we recommend opting for a delayed loading procedure, which allows for proper osseointegration (6 months for the upper arch and 3 months for the lower arch), ensuring the success of the operation.
