Medical Director of FreeSmile

Dr. Michael Schmitz is the founder of FreeSmile and leads the Centre with a clear approach: helping patients understand their situation before making an important Treatment Decision. He studied Medicine and Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. He further developed his training through international academic experiences at institutions such as Harvard, MIT and Columbia University. He also deepened his knowledge in economics, mathematics, decision-making processes and Artificial Intelligence, completing a Master in Global Finance at Bayes Business School in London. This combination of Medicine, Dentistry, structured analysis and strategic thinking shapes the way he works. Dr. Schmitz supervises the FreeSmile Team and personally sees patients, with particular attention to complex implant, surgical and reconstructive cases. His role is not to decide instead of the patient. His role is to help the patient see the options, the limits and the next steps more clearly.
