Disorders of the temporomandibular joint are accompanied by symptoms of various kinds: ranging from limitations in opening the mouth, especially in the morning upon waking, to continuous pain or pain associated with chewing, to noises or rubbing perceived during yawning or laughter. Other symptoms are headache and neck stiffness.
