Is there a connection between the malposition of the jaw and headaches or pain in the neck or back?
An altered occlusion can over time also cause problems in the muscular and skeletal systems of the back, neck and head, generating inflammation and pain. In the most serious cases, even posturology can be negatively influenced by a severe occlusal imbalance.

What problems can malocclusion cause?
Malocclusion can generate problems in the temporomandibular joint with the perception of joint clicks and creaks, in the ear with tinnitus and buzzes of various kinds, in the masticatory muscles with hypertrophy and soreness, headaches, neck pain and contractures in the neck.

What is bruxism or teeth grinding?
Bruxism is a somatization of stress or other emotional factors, which determines the clenching and sliding of the teeth together. It occurs unconsciously during the night, but it can also occur during the day leading to erosion and abrasion of the dental enamel with consequent increase in dentinal sensitivity, aesthetic alterations, loss of the vertical dimension of the face and increased risk of fractures.

How do i know if i suffer from temporomandibular disorders?
Disorders of the temporomandibular joint are accompanied by symptoms of various kinds: ranging from limitations in opening the mouth, especially in the morning upon waking, to continuous pain or pain associated with chewing, to noises or rubbing perceived during yawning or laughter. Other symptoms are headache and neck stiffness.
