A dental cystectomy is an oral surgery procedure used to remove a cyst in the jaw. The cyst may be periapical, related to the tooth root, dentigerous, related to a tooth, or of another odontogenic origin.

The post-operative course is often manageable. Temporary swelling or mild discomfort may occur and is followed according to the individual case.
